AUDIO SERMONS

GLEN WEEKS is a man who has seen more death than most.  As a Platoon Leader in the Battle at Fish Hook, Vietnam, he saw many of his men perish.  His fellow Platoon Leader, Vic Micah died in 30 seconds, after a 120 mm rocket took off his legs.

After the war, Glen joined the New York State Patrol.  Together with his Australian wife, Jennifer, they began attending an Independent Baptist Church.  Glen had been in church since he was a young lad, and so he told his new Pastor that he was ‘a sinner saved by grace.’

In his heart, Glen knew he had lied.  During the week he was the mean-spirited cop then on Sunday, he put on a big front.  But God’s Word began to unsettle him:

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.  (Titus 3:5)

Then one night at 11:45 pm, under great conviction of sin, Glen pulled his patrol car off the highway, opened his Bible and read;

If Thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?  But there is forgiveness with Thee, that thou mayest be feared. (Psalm 130:3, 4)

That night Glen bowed his head and prayed, “Dear God, I’m not worth it, but I’m asking you to save my soul, just as these verses have said.”  Since that night, Glen Weeks has been telling people that God can save sinners through the shed blood of His Son on the cross, and can assure them of eternal life through His bodily resurrection.
